Mixed content
One of the biggest problem is that if you use both HTTP as HTTPS on a single webpage, the browser might complain about some kind of security issue with mixed content. IE for instance warns you that the "page contains both secure and nonsecure items".
This could happen if you load some kind of social media (Twitter, Google Gadget) or some other JavaScript-tool (user tracking) on your SSL-pages. Our opinion is that it's stupid enough that those JavaScript-files do not have a SSL-variation (which would solve this issue), but untill they do you're facing this problem. Our YireoTM SSL Redirect plugin brings the solution.
Yireo SSL Redirect plugin
The Yireo SSL Redirect plugin allows you to configure those pages that need SSL. Next the plugin makes sure that only on those pages SSL is actually used, while on all other pages SSL is not used. If you end up through HTTPS on a non-SSL page, you're redirected automatically.
free plugin is available under the GNU/GPL and can be downloaded here.
