This tutorial will show you how to create a development site in Joomla. You can make changes to your test site and then, when you've tested and are happy with them, automatically push out those changes to your live site. This is professional development behavior, because it reduces the potential for mistakes and allows you eliminate most errors before they become public.

Today is Joomla!'s 5th birthday.
On September 1st, 2005 the joomla.org sites were launched. Until that day, the Joomla! name was completely unknown to the world. Approximately 2.5% of the web runs on Joomla. It is used by organizations as large as Apple, McDonald’s and the United Nations and by millions of people for their companies, hobbies and charities.

Google Realtime Search for Twitter’s Tweets Only |
Monday, 30 August 2010 11:23 |
Many of you have been aware of the official release of Google dedicated real time search on August 26. This is an interesting news to all of us as it can help searchers find the most updated news once it is updated. But, is that worth for use of this realtime search when your searched results are only tweets?
As usual, you can only find the updated news after a curtain amount of time once it is published. The smaller your blog is, the longer time your updates are indexed in SERPs of Google. However, with this dedicated real time search, your post will be indexed immediately.

Redesigning Joomla! 1.6 admin interface |
Friday, 20 August 2010 10:25 |
Joomla! 1.6 stable is right around the corner. With it comes an administrator interface that although significantly updated, remains largely the same as the previous interface from Joomla! 1.5. The Joomla! 1.5 admin interface was an updated version of the original Joomla! 1.0 interface, which was inherited from Mambo. One could say that we're using an interface that's been around the better part of this decade. That's an eternity in software.

Many people ask “Is Joomla! good for SEO or not?” and my final answer is: “Yes it is!”. Joomla! is the ideal software with which you can build any website: business, corporate, education, government, portals etc. At the same time it is one of the easiest content management systems to set up, for many reasons, and good for the purpose of better rankings in search engines too.
